"Reading is to the mind as exercise is to the body." -Joseph Addison

The Brackman Library is open during school hours, but students must have a pass from their teacher to come to the library.  If a student needs to stay after to use the computers, I am always willing to stay with them as long as they have parental permission and a ride home.  The library has over 19,000 books, videos and magazines available to the students and staff.   Students can check out books for 2 weeks at a time and can be renewed for an additional 2 weeks if necessary.

News and upcoming events:

"RIFE" - Reading Is For Everyone - June 3,4,5, 2019 RIFE is our free book give away once a year.  Students come to the library with their ELA teacher and select a free book of their choice to keep and enjoy.    Thank you to the ROBMS PTA for donating $500 towards the purchase of books for the 2017-2018 school year RIFE program.   We thank the PTA for their continued support of the library AND the RIFE program.

New books arrive weekly for students to check out.

The Library Assistants program has been very successful.  Seventh and eighth grade students, interested in the library -  book drop books, check students in/out, restock shelves, put labels on new books and more.  18 Student Library Assistants have been selected for this year.   6th and 7th grade students interested in applying to be Library Assistants for 2019-2020 school year can apply after May 15, 2019.

Book Fair Update -

The Scholastic Book Fair ran during Parent/Teacher Conference week, November 26-30 and February 21-28.  Students viewed book trailers in ELA class for the most popular books at the book fair.  Students came to the book fair with their ELA teacher. We ran a “lucky locker lottery” where 23 students received a “lucky locker lottery” ticket in their locker giving them the opportunity to select one free book from the book fair.  Parents who stopped by the book fair during Parent/Teacher Conference week, we had a free basket of books raffle. Parents received an entry form when they browsed the book fair. No purchase necessary. For the 2019-20 school year, the book fairs will be held December 2-6, and February 20-28.
