Mr. Fiorentino, an educator for 28 years, currently serves as the Assistant Principal of the Russell O. Brackman Middle School. He had previously served as an elementary and middle school teacher in Toms River before joining our district in 2006. In Mr. Fiorentino’s tenure in Barnegat, he served as both an assistant principal and principal; he began the first twelve years at Brackman and the past four years at the elementary level before returning to ROBMS for the 2022-23 SY.
As an administrator, Mr. Fiorentino’s focus is to serve the families of the Barnegat community by promoting and fostering a learning environment where our students and staff can perform at their maximum potential. He continues to employ Positive Behavior Support in Schools strategies to promote consistent expectations in all school settings, thus increasing on-task behavior and maximizing instructional time.
Mr. Fiorentino received his bachelor’s degree in Education from Trenton State College and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Jersey City University, originally attending Kutztown University in Pennsylvania on a wrestling scholarship, considering the medical field while studying Biology; ultimately, deciding to pursue his true desire to become an educator. Mr. Fiorentino continues to be involved with wrestling, volunteering as a coach whenever possible and participating as a member of the NJ Wrestling Officials Association as the Shore Chapter Cadet Supervisor. Additional hobbies include reading, woodwork, and kayaking.
Mr. Fiorentino prides himself on maintaining a hometown feel while forging a strong bond with the entire community. Mr. Fiorentino’s core belief is to help students find ways to improve themselves so that they may discover their inner talents and passion; and that this is most successful when ALL (students, staff, and parents) are working together as one family. Like the old proverb says, “it takes a village,” the entire community’s support and trust is necessary to achieve excellence.
